    Why choose Microsuction?

1 in 5 adults in the UK are affected by hearing loss.

Microsuction is the gold standard of earwax removal. It is the safest and most convenient way to remove wax from the ear.

People who commonly need ear wax removal are:

    · Users of in ear headphones

    · Users of hearing aids

    · Regular cotton bud users

    · People who use ear plugs regularly

    What is Microsuction?

Microsuction uses gentle suction to clean the ear. A small probe is directed at the ear wax in the canal and light suction is applied to remove it. I will also use a microscope to magnify the ear making it easier to assess and treat.

A few good reasons to book in for wax removal....

Do you have an audiology appointment coming up?

How does earwax affect hearing tests?

Even if ear wax isn't fully obstructing your ear, it should be removed prior to a hearing test. The wax can impede sound transmission and falsely suggest poorer hearing than is the case. It's advisable to schedule a wax removal at least two weeks before your audiology appointment, allowing time for any wax to be checked for and cleared.

Do you have a holiday coming up?

Don't let earwax ruin your well deserved holiday!

It's astonishing to observe the number of individuals who report that their holiday was spoiled by discomfort from swimming with excessive earwax. It can indeed mar the holiday experience. If you suspect earwax build-up, it's advisable to schedule a removal at least two weeks prior to your vacation. This ensures that the wax is cleared well in advance of your departure. Remember, it's crucial to avoid water in your ears for three days post-removal.
